The power of scent

Did you know that our sense of smell is directly linked to our limbic system, the part of the brain associated with emotions and memories. This connection can evoke certain feelings or recall specific experiences, which can influence our health positively. Aromatherapy embraces this relationship by using essential oils to enhance mood, relieve stress, and promote relaxation all of which contribute significantly to our overall wellness.

Studies have shown that certain aromas can help reduce cortisol levels, the hormone associated with stress. When we are stressed, our body produces cortisol, which can lead to various physical and mental health issues if levels remain elevated for a long time. Many scents can instill a feeling of safety and comfort, like Lavender which is often associated with calmness, relaxation and healing. Using citrus oils such as Lemon, Orange and Bergamot can lift mood and make you happy.
Whether it's through essential oils, wearing essential oil jewellery, or using diffusers, aligning scents with positive memories can help you cultivate a deeper connection to your feelings.
By consciously choosing scents that uplift and empower, you can positively influence not just your memories, but your emotional and physical health as well.
